Hi, Ells&Pills is here!
Although this is a pretty small update, it has (seemingly, lol) resolved the biggest issue, the cause of which I couldn't find or understand for over a year. Everything should work correctly now.
This update includes the following changes:
- Finally found and fixed the root cause of the issue with the final achievement.
Laugh if you want, but I seriously couldn't understand for over a year why the SHARP VISION #1 achievement wasn't unlocking for some players. I was never able to replicate this bug on either of my two computers. But I finally figured it out, f*ck. The game now features a deeper integration with the Steam platform. All necessary data is pulled directly from the player's profile to verify exactly what's needed. This check runs 5 seconds after earning each individual achievement, as well as every time you launch the game or return to the main menu. So, all that's required from players is an active Steam client and a working internet connection. If you play and unlock all the achievements as intended, the final one will unlock the exact same way. - Added anomaly counters to the start buttons in the rules menu.
An important note: this information is pulled directly from Steam. If you play offline or outside of Steam entirely, these counters will not work. This is not a bug. - Added a brightness setting option.
If you find the bonus mode too dark, you can now adjust the picture brightness a bit. - Fixed a bug that caused an extra sound to play in the bonus mode.
- Increased the audio volume for one of the anomalies in the bonus mode.
This will likely be the final patch for the game. If everything stays quiet and trouble-free over the next week, I will finally delete Unreal Engine 5.6 from my computer and free up some space on my SSD. This was my first and last game on UE5. All other games were and will be on the good old Unreal Engine 4.27, which I absolutely love and which is more than enough for all my ideas.
I also want to say that I'm cooking up something special for everyone who enjoyed this game. Since I no longer need to rush anywhere, I’m going to take a little break from the computer and work on this "surprise" at my own comfortable pace. I’ll probably share some news in October, depending on how it goes. So stick around, it’s gonna be fun. <3
Best Regards,
Ells&Pills
