Tetrogue 1.1.13 — Patch Notes

Tetrogue · published · build 24518196

Visuals

  • Pieces now render as one continuous beveled shape (light from the top-right) instead of a grid of separate bricks, with a subtle low-contrast seam kept between individual tiles so pieces still read as built from units. Applies everywhere a piece appears: the board, the falling piece, NEXT/Hold previews, the start-screen background, the level-transition wipe, weapon/attack shapes, and garbage debris. Fused gold/silver Perfect-Square blocks now render as one flat-center jewel instead of 16 separate bricks.
  • Locked pieces on the board now gradually mute darker (blended toward the board's own background tone) once their lock flash finishes, so the actively-falling piece stands out more clearly against the settled stack.

Controls

  • Replaced the "Hard Drop Locks Instantly" option with two separate, always-available actions: Hard Drop (always locks instantly, unbound by default) and Sonic Drop (drops to the bottom without locking, took over Hard Drop's old default keys). Pressing Sonic Drop again once the piece is grounded locks it immediately, and holding either key down no longer spams the drop sound or endlessly re-arms the lock timer.

Quality of Life

  • Removed the now-empty "Hard/Softdrop Behaviour" section header in Options (only the Soft Drop Repeat Speed slider was left under it).

Fixes

  • Fixed battle music audibly leaking through for a moment on every level/outro transition and when toggling mute mid-track during a muted run, and music never resuming if a battle started muted then got unmuted mid-fight.
  • Fixed a long-standing bug where rebinding a key/button that collided with another action's default alt binding displayed correctly in Options but silently didn't function after a restart — resolved, and existing affected players' save files self-heal automatically.
  • The Controls tab now shows the correct glyph for a rebound key on non-US keyboard layouts (e.g. "ö"/"ä"/"ß" on German QWERTZ) instead of colliding onto an unrelated ASCII-punctuation name.
  • Fixed quitting before picking a boss, elite, or gem reward permanently losing it — Continue now routes straight back to the reward screen instead of dropping you on the map with no way back.
  • Fixed quitting during the Limited Shapes challenge's pre-battle piece-picker silently skipping the entire scheduled fight on Continue.
  • Fixed quitting on an unopened treasure chest routing Continue to the wrong reward screen instead of back to the chest.
  • Fixed a portal-boss reward becoming claimable a second time for free if you paused on that screen once before picking.
