Hello to all ant colonies!

This is the bombardier beetle. When we added a ranged unit to the game, a huge number of players sent us this exact insect and suggested adding it. Yes, we are adding it. It's awesome.

Shooting is a completely new mechanic for our game, so we are introducing it carefully. First, we test how it works in various game situations, and only then do we expand its use.We had to analyze dozens of complex game situations to come up with universal behavior rules for the bombardier. It is still being polished, but we decided to show one of the raid tests from the new enemy.

New challenges in defense

Before the introduction of ranged units, dungeon defense was quite monotonous. All battles took place between melee fighters.

A ranged ant can obviously deal damage without taking hits from enemies, but it has no stopping power. Therefore, defense has to be a combination of melee and ranged ants. Now we've decided to develop this system further. We aren't designing a single "correct" way of defense or a sole path to victory. We try to build a world, and how to win in it is up to each player to decide. Sometimes your strategies absolutely amaze us.We have already planned more ranged units — both among ants and enemies. But we will add them gradually, observing what tactics and decks you create.Important to note: ranged units will not appear in every level. They won't be in all locations or all episodes. We want them to remain special and somewhat rare.

The final devlog about the mountains will be released in exactly two weeks. In it, we will tell you about how the mountain world was created.

See you right here in a week. Don't be late.

In-game event4 Sep 2026Dev Diary #7: New Mountain Location DesignHello to all ant colonies! It's time to talk about the design of the new locations. Four new episodes went through many stages of technical and artistic design. We assembled each map from different control zones, placed creatures where they would actually settle in nature, and distributed food sources so that capturing different areas of the map would bring tangible benefits to the colony. In a…In-game event21 Aug 2026Dev Diary #5: Map EventsHello to all ant colonies! One of the main new features is map events. This idea was inspired by the spiders from the marble quarry: sometimes they could eat their neighbors or even a raid that was heading towards the player. It looked unexpected, alive, and very funny. We decided to develop this mechanic and teach enemies to interact with each other. At the same time, we deliberately did not t…In-game event14 Aug 2026Dev Diary #4: Big Mountain UpdateHello to all ant colonies! Today we want to share with you a development diary of the new mountain episodes. We have added new events on the map, made wasps aggressive to other opponents, and developed many changes, about which we have prepared a series of several diaries. In older versions of the game, each biome had only one level on normal and high difficulty. Over time, we realized that we…
