I'm a computer science teacher building this in my spare time. It's been many months of one person's evenings and weekends so far and I just want to say that this is a very early conceptual build. I'm not testing whether it's finished: it isn't, far from what I envision; but I'm testing whether the core loop and the idea actually holds up.

Does burning things for money feel good? Do the jobs make sense? Is there a game here?

That's what I need to know, and I need you to tell me honestly. All constructive feedback is welcome, including the blunt kind.

One thing up front: I've only been able to test this on a single machine with a RTX 5080 (Mine). I have no idea how it runs on anything else. If it struggles, that's genuinely useful information rather than something to apologise for on your end. This is one of the reasons I’m running a playtest now to see how it runs on other computers and work towards optimising it for all as well.

How to report things

Press F1 at any time to bring up the playtest menu. There are a few items on there to hopefully help - if a mission locks up, if something breaks, or if you just want to file something while it's fresh, it's in there. Click bug report and it should bring up your browser window.

Failing that click links below:

Bug reports

For bugs, file them as you hit them as details fade fast. I might already have some identified and I will try pushing fixes quickly for anything game breaking.

General feedback

For general feedback, I'd rather you played through to the Tip mission first before filling anything in. That's the point where the game opens up beyond the yard, and impressions formed before that don't tell me much about whether the loop works. But you can submit feedback at any point after the first mission. Just be clear what you did and how far you got.

Known issues at this time

No need to report these, I'm already on them:

 • Fire renders through the walls of skips and containers sometimes

 • A few items around the town pay a bonus when they should be fining you (lucky you).

 • Thrown matches don't get any reaction from the police

 • Sprint momentum isn't kept when you jump

What is the most useful things to hear about

 • Most importantly: Is the gameplay actually fun?

 • Performance, and what you're running it on. CPU, GPU, RAM, OS. Especially if it struggles

 • Anything you got stuck on, or couldn't work out what the game wanted from you

 • Whether the jobs are too long, too short, or about right

 • Whether burning things actually feels satisfying.

 • Anything that made you laugh, and anything that fell flat

Platform

Windows native. Linux works through Proton – you can enable Steam Play for all other titles in Steam → Settings → Compatibility and it should run. No Mac yet, sorry (don’t have access to one to be able to make a build). Let me know how you get on if you're on Linux, that's an area I cannot test myself.

Finally

The art is very much programmer-does-his-best standard for now. I know. It'll improve as will the 3D Modelling over time.

I'll be pushing updates and fixes over the coming weeks, so it's worth checking back. Thanks for giving it a go!
