Two new languages
The whole game speaks Português (Brasil) and Español now — menus, tutorials, the register, the Codex, and every line a customer says.
- Switch it in Settings > Display > Language. It changes instantly, no restart, and it remembers your pick.
- Anything not translated yet falls back to English, so you never see a blank or a raw code.
- A few button names (INVENTORY, CODEX, ACCEPT) stay English on purpose — those buttons are not localized yet, so the instructions match what is actually on your screen.
This was the most requested thing on the streams. If a line reads badly in your language, say so in the discussions. It is one file, and I can fix it the same day.
Fair warning: this is a first pass, and it will read like one in places. I translated it myself rather than paying a localization studio, so expect some stiff phrasing, a line or two that overflows its box, and the odd word a native speaker would have chosen differently. Nothing is locked in — the whole thing is one file, and I will keep polishing it build over build. Telling me which line reads wrong is genuinely the fastest way to get it fixed.
The loading freeze
- The long hang before the store appears is gone. Loading a save used to stock every shelf in a single frame; that work is spread across frames now, and so is putting your furniture back.
- The main menu was also warming up rendering work the game never actually draws. It does not any more.
- On a slower drive you may still catch one short hitch as the street outside loads. That one is known, and it is next.
From the last streams
- Appraising a trade-in now freezes that customer's patience. Two playtesters lost a trade because the timer kept ticking while they were inside the inspection.
- When you are stuck on a change screen, the exact-change shortcut is now a banner instead of small text on the register LCD.
- The vacuum is audible from a sane distance instead of across the entire store.
- Closing time now tells you the doors are locked and the people already inside will finish shopping, instead of looking like the day has stalled.
