Hello Royalty! Our adorable little indie game has had the ride of a lifetime here at launch, blowing past our expectations in both sales and critical reception. We've issued a number of improvements across this week and a half, culminating in one last update in time for the weekend. Let's catch you up to speed since our last post.
Our small team optimized as much as we could on our limited number of computers before launch, but it appears nevertheless a number of players have experienced performance drops in its early days. Thanks to your diligent reporting on our Discord, we've been able to discover and patch sweeping performance improvements across the board for players of many different system specs.
Primarily, this patch automatically enables dedicated GPUs on any machines that have them. Integrated graphics cards sometimes struggle with our antialiasing pipeline, and previously users had to manually enable their graphics cards in their system's NVIDIA settings. A number of performance issues intrinstic to our programming have also been ironed out. As a result, the experience will be vastly improved for a lot of players whether you notice it or not. If you've previously experienced poor performance and hope to be able to flip a negative review to a positive one, please consider giving the game another shot. If you continue to experience performance issues, we'd love to help you troubleshoot in our Discord.
We're introducing automated crash reporting so we'll never miss a crash log if you forget to report it in our Discord's Bug Reports channel... although custom-reporting their context in there always helps us diagnose much faster!
Because crashes are usually unique edge cases, we'll spare you the nitty-gritty details—but if you've reported a crash in the last few days, odds are it's been resolved. We can't promise every single thing has been addressed, but darn'it we're doing our darn'ist! If anything new or lingering is discovered, we'll hotfix as soon as we can.
The following character adjustments have also been implemented. Please be sure to record any replays you'd like to save permanently with external recording software like OBS, as your replays will be rendered obsolete by this update.
For the most part, we hope to relegate character adjustments (excepting crash fixes) to major update patches, rather than bugfix patches, so replays can stay as fully intact as possible, for as long as possible. However, please remember to always preserve replays before updating.
Fixed an issue with Ground Special that could cause desyncs.

Ok. I'm very tired from all this hard work, so you won't get a clever or fun outro today. Just a heartfelt thank you to everyone enjoying Royalty Free-For-All! We've poured a lot of heart and soul into this project, from the obvious details like our expressive hand-drawn animation, to the unsung specifics like more-than-one-hundred songs from the public domain remixed across our soundtrack. It's so wonderful to see our joys spread to you, and we can't thank you enough for your support. We hope to share some exciting news about upcoming content in the future.
Tata for no—uh, I mean—see ya!
