At first glance, Amara Machado was the ideal. Wearing the Crown's perfectly fit uniform, her gaze stern and focused. The daughter of the feared admiral Fernando Machado was primed for a long and successful career.
When Amara was a child, her mother was killed in a pirate attack on a ship her father captained for the Crown. The heartbroken admiral raised his daughter the only way he knew, as a son. Amara underwent rigorous military training and showed great dedication to her father and the Admiralty.
However, her father's increasing brutality against any resistance in the Seven Seas did not exactly sit well with her. While she is no friend of pirates, she was too young when her mother died to share her father's burning hatred for them. To her, hunting pirates had to be done to keep the Crown's peace.
Recently, Amara was ordered to find and execute a crew of buccaneers who escaped the Bloody Bastille. Instead of killing everyone, she brought them in for questioning and proper trial. Her father could not accept this. He gave his daughter an ultimatum. Either she proved she could do the job, or someone else would do it.
This ignited a fire inside Amara. After months of pirate hunting, she prepared a major crackdown on several notorious pirate locations. This time, she was tasked to bring them personally to the Bloody Bastille for public execution. And executed they should be.
