Brimir Update — New Floor 7 Scar: The Road of Stilled Blood (v1561)
Everything that piled up since the last announcement, in one go. The headline is the first scar
on the Floor 7 glacier route, alongside a new structure called Grudge and a pass over
inheritance and progression.
❄️ New Scar — The Road of Stilled Blood (Floor 7, glacier route)
- A new scar opens on floors 71–73. That route had no scars at all until now. This is its first.
- Stilled Blood — inside, healing you receive is heavily reduced, cold bites harder, your feet grow heavy, and condition drains faster. Builds that lean on potions will need another answer here.
- Seven frozen pilgrims and their warden, Kaldris the Frost Executioner, wait inside. The pilgrims endure through barriers and status resistance — which reads as one piece with the way Kaldris freezes and shatters.
- Kaldris received dedicated artwork.
- Eight runes and four Numeros drop here. The scar's runes all lean toward applying Cold, and the warden's rune is the one that detonates it — the more of this scar's runes you wear, the more it pays.
- A Supreme Frost Elixir is hidden deep in the corridor. Only very high Perception will reveal it.
🩸 New Structure — Grudge
- Whatever ended your last pilgrimage now carries a mark. On your next run, when you set foot on that floor, the things that have tasted your blood stand out.
- Settle it and you recover what you spilled.
- Grudges do not stack — there is only one slot, so your next death overwrites the last. A grudge you never settle simply fades.
🆕 Added · Quality of life
- Zone effects now stay on screen. Previously a banner announced them once as you entered a region and that was it — miss it and there was nowhere to look. The penalty currently on you is now pinned in the top-left at all times, inside scars too.
- Room names display correctly inside scars. They used to show an unrelated place name.
- The bestiary now separates Scars from Hidden Reaches. Hidden Reaches were previously listed as "Appears in Scar".
- Everything formerly called the "Boundary World" is now unified as Hidden Reach. Items you already own under the old name update automatically.
⚖️ Balance
- Companion rune inheritance raised from 2 to 3. It reaches 5 as the Pilgrim's Trail deepens. There has long been a complaint that you lose far more than you carry across a death — and in practice most deaths were hitting the cap.
- Higher-tier Distortion spells now carry over properly. They were being excluded from inheritance, which meant only the ones you had paid for went missing.
- The Level 4 threshold has been lowered. The gap from 3 to 4 was the widest on the whole table while the reward was the smallest.
- Overheat Chant — it used to run forever once lit. The circuit now heats up the longer it burns, drinking more Spirit as it goes, and burns out at the limit. It cools while off. It is now a question of when to spend it.
- Fenri now gets full value from Strength runes. He was not first in any stat, so no rune ever quite fit him; the axis that was going to waste has been moved into Strength.
- Kerdan of the Galestorm — the power his description promised did not actually exist. He now cuts deeper the thicker the Wind on his target, as written.
- Skeletal Wyvern — Wing Shield toned down.
🔧 Bug fixes
- Fixed being swept away inside a Floor 6 scar, which sent your character off-screen. The open-sea drift check was still running inside the scar.
- Fixed tier 3 elemental effects almost never firing. Reaching the top tier consumed it in the same instant, so the top rung of every tier-scaling rune was structurally dead. Azure Flame Bird, Strata Verdict, Jolt Verdict, Light Verdict and others now work as intended.
- Fixed Cold detonations being announced as "Poison burst".
- Softened aggro swinging wildly in the first seconds of a fight. Enemies are now slower to lose track of you at the opening.
- Fixed some boss markers showing as red rectangles in the overhead view.
- Fixed some item names appearing in Korean in the English build.
