Hi detectives,
A new update is now live.
This update completely reworks how NPCs move and behave inside the precinct, making it feel much more alive, immersive, and dynamic.
Daily Schedules and Activities
NPCs now follow daily schedules that change depending on their role and the time of day.
Throughout the day, they can work at their desks, type on computers, get a drink, consult archives and case boards, sit or pace while waiting, patrol the precinct, visit the restroom, and take breaks.
NPCs can also meet and socialize naturally. Two characters may leave what they are doing, walk to a meeting point, wait for each other, and have a short conversation before returning to their routines.
More Natural Animations
The animation system has also been reworked to support these new behaviors.
Characters now show more natural body language while standing, sitting, working, thinking, talking, or holding objects. They can type with keyboard sounds, drink from cups, handle folders, gesture during conversations, and occasionally sneeze.
Sitting down, standing up, and moving between activities now feel smoother and more believable.
Improved Movement
NPC navigation is now more reliable and natural.
Characters move purposefully between activities, use the different spaces of the precinct, and navigate naturally around the people they encounter along the way.
This makes corridors, workstations, waiting areas, and spontaneous conversations feel much more dynamic.
Final Notes
The precinct is no longer a static background for your investigations.
As time passes, officers work, civilians wait, colleagues take breaks, conversations begin and end, and everyone continues with their own routine.
The precinct now has its own rhythm, and it feels more alive than ever before.
Thanks again for playing and for following the development.
