VEIL and the forced-target effects (TAUNT, FIXATE) can no longer sit on the same champion. Whichever arrives second is dropped, the rest of the card resolves as normal, and the combat log says which half was refused. The arena also warns you before you commit a play that would clash.
Royal Plunder is one ability now: it copies the chosen enemy's Shield first, then deals its damage. Hitting a champion holding 2 Shield for 2 damage used to plunder nothing.
Drawing never refuses a card any more. An empty deck makes the draw do nothing, and an empty enemy hand only stops the part of the card that wanted those cards. X Marks the Spot still draws and Virgin's Retribution still hits.
Clearer cards and text
When a card cannot be played, the game now tells you why: DISARM on the champion holding it, an opponent with no cards in hand, or an enemy line that is entirely INVINCIBLE or behind a VEIL.
Royal Plunder and Forced Negotiation now name the champion they act on instead of saying "that Champion".
Know Your Enemy and Bottle of Rum say what they actually do.
The MAGNET LINKED status is now called GUARDED, and both it and GUARD are explained in the words the board uses.
The TAUNT plus INVINCIBLE deadlock message names both keywords.
The Time Warden's new name now reaches every language, the rulebook and the reward list.
New screens
A RULES screen, reachable from the TUTORIAL row, with the same numbers the Warden teaches.
An INFO button on every champion tile opens a short profile of the real historical figure.
Sound and visuals
Debuffs have their own sound. Royal Seduction, Thunderous Roar, The Oriflamme over Orleans, Strategic Chaos and Victory Without Conflict used to land in silence.
BLEED now stains the champion's portrait with running drops instead of only showing as a chip.
A new anger mark over a champion that is FIXATED or facing a TAUNT.
Fewer frame skips during a match, especially after a big play.
Switching to fullscreen no longer leaves the board scaled for the old window size.
Deck builder
Hovering a card that is already in your deck now shows its text.
Card rules text is drawn at the same brightness as in the arena.
