Splatchinko Demo · published
Splatchinko officially has a publisher! I am beyond excited to announce that I have partnered with Stratos to bring this game to life. As a solo developer, this is a huge dream come true, and it means I can focus entirely on making the game as chaotic, surreal, and amazing as possible. You will now see a shiny new Stratos splash screen when booting up the game!
Alongside this massive announcement, this update brings a huge visual overhaul, new procedural content, and a glimpse into the full game's progression.
Here is everything new in this update:
Stratos Publisher Splash Screen: Welcome to the family, Stratos!
New Star Map Graphics: The galactic map you navigate between runs has received a complete graphical overhaul. It looks better than ever!
New Playable Character Sprites: The playable characters have received brand-new, updated sprites to match the evolving art style of the game.
More Art by Federico: The incredibly talented Federico has provided stunning new illustrations for the tutorial and various other in-game elements.
Brand-New Font: I’ve updated the game's main font to Cubic11, giving the UI a much cleaner and more stylized look.
Level 3 Mutations Introduced: I have officially added Level 3 abilities (Mutations) into the full game's progression pool!
Procedural Boards LV2 & LV3: The procedural generation just got deeper. I've added Level 2 and Level 3 procedural boards for enemy encounters, ensuring even more variety as you progress.
"Infinite Explosion" Balance: Those crazy balls that "explode forever" are incredibly fun, but a bit too chaotic to have all the time. They are now strictly limited to spawning only once per run.
Planet Descriptions: I have simplified the text descriptions for the planets to make them easier to read and understand at a glance.
Tutorial Input Lock: Fixed an issue where players could click around while the tutorial was still loading. Pending input is now strictly controlled during tutorials.
Save "Sanitizer" System: Implemented a new background system to clean and "sanitize" save files, making sure your progression data stays safe and uncorrupted.
Enemy Pool & Save Data Fix: Squashed a bug related to the enemy spawn pool and how it interacted with saved data.
Localization Fix: Fixed a localization issue regarding ball types.
Cheers,
Fabio Taurisano - Developer of Splatchinko
