Update 1.1.0.2 is now live.

Two areas took the bulk of the work this time. On the campaign side, Canada and the USA now build their own patrol fleets and will put them to use rather than leaving them idle, so an Allied campaign should feel less like you are carrying the whole ocean alone. In combat, the AI has had a broad pass across anti-submarine warfare, submersible tactics, dive bombers and naval gunnery.

Alongside those, there are stability fixes for large cities, a number of smaller corrections, and several improvements for modders - including the ability to update existing Steam Workshop mods.

Steam Community Items

Victory At Sea Atlantic now has a full set of Steam Community items. Play the game and you will start earning trading cards, which can be crafted into badges, and which unlock emoticons and profile backgrounds along the way. Cards you do not need can be traded or sold on the Community Market.

Nothing to enable - it works from this update onwards.

Full notes below.

Gameplay

  • Canada and the USA may build patrol fleets, and will give them orders if idle in an Allied campaign.
  • Ship classes may be sorted on the shipyard panel.
  • Carried aircraft classes may be selected per ship for custom battles.
  • Improved shelling AI.
  • Dive bomber AI behaviour improvements.
  • Enemy submersible torpedo attack AI improvements.
  • Enemy submersibles are harder to spot, based on game difficulty.
  • Enemy AI will switch their flight payloads.
  • German AI will create more ASW bombers.
  • Submersibles begin further from enemy ships in combat if enemy ASW planes are present.
  • More accurate ASW bombing in autoresolve.
  • ASW planes may be ordered to bomb surfaced submersibles.
  • The game will warn you when a ship breaks formation due to damage.
  • Raising a periscope will immediately focus it towards a locked-on target.
  • Ensured torpedo tubes are loaded at the start of a combat where possible.
  • Enemy large wolfpacks no longer grow excessively large, and small destroyer forces are now merged into larger, more capable groups.
  • Improved enemy Axis fleet navigation on the campaign map.
  • Ship navigation improvements in combat.
  • Made some voice alerts less spammy.

Bug Fixes

  • Improved loading of large cities to prevent crashes.
  • Allies may no longer collect British cargo from St. John's.
  • Fixed some localisation errors.
  • Fixed a bug where an enemy ship could end up in two fleets at once.
  • Stopped the research project list becoming empty after unloading a mod.
  • Fixed a bug that could prevent the minimap refreshing after reloading a game.
  • Stopped the minimap starting in a misaligned position in the tutorial.

Mods

  • Existing Steam Workshop mods may now be updated (if initially uploaded after this update).
  • Changing torpedo fuze type now works properly.
  • The UI displays correct ammunition types if changed in mods.
