Brimir Update (v1424)

❄️ Elemental Companions Pull Their Weight

Skadi elemental affinity now applies properly to both basic attacks and rune abilities.
Skadi, wrapped in frost, can reorder your party's damage ranking outright.

  • Skadi — Absolute Zero traded for cold stacks and cold affinity. Instead of freezing the first blow, she freezes you in place the longer she keeps hitting.
  • Lena — Freeze and knockback stripped from Snowflower and Water Cannon, converted into raw power. Her auto-cast freeze was spending the interrupt you needed for something else.

🩹 Something That Was Disappearing

  • Rune upgrades vanished when reclaiming — Enhancement levels bought with blood stones, and the accumulated pity counter, were lost outright in the process. They now carry over intact.

🫀 Fights That Started Before You Saw Anything

Reported by players. There were two separate causes.

  • Monsters spawning under your feet — If one appeared where you were standing, you were pulled into combat before the marker was even visible. Now you have to separate from it and touch it again. Only what you saw and walked into starts a fight.
  • The Pericardium's systole tide — The wave was already on you while you were still reading the systole banner. It now surfaces for a beat first. You get to see it coming.

Aggressive monsters still chase you down afterward. This isn't a way to dodge them — it's a warning.

🩸 The Pericardium's Champions Carry Their Weight

We heard that the tier-3 monsters on Floor 8 hit hard but left no impression. Digging in: either nothing told you what was coming, or their biggest blow was erased by a single block.

  • Rime Spearwraith — Its heaviest thrust simply disappeared if you blocked. The spear now pierces through. You can step aside to avoid it, but you can't erase it by standing and blocking.
  • Butcher of Blood — The blood it spills follows you. There are now places you shouldn't stand.
  • Crushing Colossus — It breaks the pillars and brings the ceiling down.
  • The Hammering Smith — The anvil's embers are visible before they land.

All four now show you what's coming before it lands. The goal was to turn them into fights you can answer.

🔧 Other Fixes

  • Victory screen damage breakdown — Skadi's frost basic attacks were being counted as physical.
  • Keys sticking after closing a facility mid-typing — Fixed for both town facilities and the code entry window.
  • ??? on offering recipes — Bosses you had already defeated stayed hidden behind question marks. Once you've killed it, it's named.
  • Floor 8 filter in the bestiary — The Pericardium was missing from the list, so you couldn't narrow to Floor 8 monsters.
  • Bestiary floor labels — The Crimson Night Citadel was listed as Floor 1; it's Floor 2.
  • Rune drops from scar mid-bosses — One per clear, but dropping at trash-mob rates. Raised.
  • Spirit Form (Water) description — The tooltip was empty.
  • English text — Floor 8 monster ability names and warning banners were still showing in Korean.

The pilgrimage to the heart continues.
