Version 0.2.5: Camera and Balancing

Vanguard's Descent Demo · published 7 Sep 2026, 20:59 UTC · build 25070573

Combat and progression

  • Added run difficulty scaling. Enemy stats now scale up as the campaign progresses, keeping later dungeons and battles a meaningful step above the opening encounters.

  • Added primary-character death succession. When your lead character falls, another surviving character automatically takes over as the primary, so a single death no longer ends the run outright.

  • Applied another round of combat balancing across enemy actions and character kits.

  • Added a dynamic combat camera. Battles are now framed procedurally, with the view following enemy attacks and repositioning to keep the action centered.

  • Added a "dynamic camera movement" toggle in Settings for players who prefer a fixed, static combat view.

Fixes

  • Fixed Aria's Chosen Summon not activating in packaged (cooked) builds.

  • Fixed tutorial prompts that could softlock the game.

  • Fixed characters freezing in mid-air during arena repositioning.
