Succession Continuity & Save Safety Update

Family Office Simulator · published 1 Aug 2026, 22:47 UTC

All eventsPlayers around this dateRead on Steam

This update improves succession continuity and protects saves during founder-death and heir-transition events.

Changes include:

• Founder-death and estate sequences now resume safely after quitting or relaunching.
• Succession decisions are now accessible through Messages when required.
• Existing saves with inconsistent succession or app-unlock states are repaired automatically.
• Heir selection and identity transfer are more resilient to malformed or older save data.
• Successful succession, estate effects, history, messages, and memorials are protected against duplication.
• No-heir endings now complete safely, including recovery from interrupted save or cleanup operations.
• Messages no longer crash when older decisions contain malformed option data.
• Legacy unlocks correctly when a valid heir is present.
• Additional safeguards were added for imported, sparse, and older saves.

Thank you to everyone who reported succession and legacy-planning issues. Existing saves remain supported, and no restart is required.

After the August 31 AcrePilot hotfix, a few players were still able to hit the same generic “authoritative state” error even though they had enough money to close the deal. Once I started tracing those saves, it turned out there were a couple of deeper issues underneath that same message. The biggest one involve…Family Office SimulatoGame update31 Aug 2026August 31 - AcrePilot Closing HotfixA small but important AcrePilot hotfix is now live. Two players reported that they had enough cash to complete an acquisition, including cash they had drawn from their line of credit, but the deal could still fail at closing with a generic “authoritative state” error. I tracked it down. The problem was not that LOC-funded cash had been intentionally disallowed. Older Banking and LOC transaction…
