This update continues the major AI overhaul and also adds several noticeable improvements to the game.
AI now better understands where its army is physically located and which units are actually available for an attack.
Preparation for major attacks has been improved: AI can better estimate the force it needs and build up its army first.
AI is less likely to waste troops on small attacks if doing so would interfere with preparation for a more important offensive.
Recovery after heavy losses has been significantly improved: AI can rebuild workers, its economy, and military infrastructure.
Captured islands are developed more effectively: population, economy, construction, and military infrastructure now work together more consistently.
Fixed issues with developing islands that are in different ages.
Improved construction and use of defensive structures.
You can now choose a difficulty level before starting a mission:
Very Easy — AI will not attack the player first and develops at a much more relaxed pace.
Easy — AI can attack the player, but acts less aggressively and gives you more time to develop.
Normal — the full current AI experience without additional restrictions.
The mission selection screen has been completely redesigned.
Before starting a mission, you can choose your starting location on the island.
If the mission allows it, you can choose the race you want to play as.
Improved the display of selected and locked missions.
Added animated water.
Water animation can be disabled in the settings.
Added new sound effects, including teleportation and combat events.
Improved damage popup visuals.
Thank you to everyone who continues to play the playtest and send feedback. Work on AI and army behavior between islands is still ongoing.
