Since the last major update about half a year ago, we have added a large number of improvements, fixes, and refinements to the game. Here are the main changes that directly affect gameplay:

Improved visuals

We have improved materials to better emphasize the wooden-toy look of the world. We have also cleaned up and unified the color palette, added more toy-like world items, and improved character eyes to create a cozier experience.
Contours and non-realistic rendering are now supported, which is used to certain extend in the scenario game as an experiment.

More comfortable controls and camera

We have enabled move cancellation and added an option for inverted controls. Camera movement should now feel calmer, and the game should be easier to control.

Reworked settings and in-game UI

Settings are now clearer, with added icons, a V-Sync option, toggles for selected features, and better text scaling.

Better performance and loading

We have improved parts of rendering, loading, font handling, and other internal systems. The game should now run more smoothly and be less prone to short stutters.

Stability and bug fixes

We have fixed a few crashes when alt-tabbing, memory leaks during prolonged play or repeated scenario restarts, and some rendering issues.

Better character behavior

We have improved character avoidance, so characters should behave more reliably. If you have anything to say about this update, head to Orbis Fabula Discord

We weren’t asking ourselves, “Which story will sell the most copies on Steam?” Our thoughts were much simpler: What kind of story could serve as a good pilot – someth…
