We’ve rolled out a significant update packed with polish, fixes, and quality‑of‑life improvements. Here’s what’s new and why you might want to revisit Bayaya.

Update contents

Smoother Gameplay and Controls

We have fixed a bug with camera rotation preventing movement. Hide & Seek and Tag games have been reworked to flow better, with automatic time‑skips, consistent action handling, and reliable game endings. Everything feels snappier and more predictable. Quest hints are clearer, more dynamic, and one of them is always highlighted so that you better know what to do at any given moment.

You asked, we listened: Invert Y‑Axis is now available in the options, and it is off by default. We’ve increased font sizes for better readability.

Audio and Atmosphere

Music transitions are smoother, silences shortened, and playback glitches eliminated.

Performance and Stability

Fullscreen mode has been made faster and more reliable.

Expect fewer crashes and stutters overall. We fixed rare freezes. Numerous under‑the‑hood improvements boost responsiveness throughout.

Crash reporting is now fully integrated with Sentry.io platform, helping us catch issues faster, without interrupting your play. Steam compatibility on Linux has also improved, including more robust native library handling.

Quick Highlights

  • New: Invert Y‑Axis option, exclusive quest display, smarter dynamic hints.
  • Better Feel: Camera rotation and movement now work together better.
  • Child Games: Faster pacing and reliable endings.
  • Visuals: Larger fonts.
  • Platform: Improved Linux support and stability.
  • Overall: Dozens of fixes and performance boosts.

Thanks to everyone for your feedback and reports — this update makes Bayaya more stable, polished, and enjoyable than ever. Maybe you want to give Bayaya another try?

We weren’t asking ourselves, “Which story will sell the most copies on Steam?” Our thoughts were much simpler: What kind of story could serve as a good pilot – someth…
