Hi!
Today’s updates may not look very big from the player’s side, but from my side they took a little more time than I expected.
The good news is that every construction worker in both categories now has 3 levels.
I also spent some time experimenting and built a personal office scene that you’ll eventually be able to enter and walk around in.
I may also add free building there. For now, I’m mainly testing what I’m capable of before I start fully working on locations such as the vehicle market, construction sites, and other scenes.
Plan for the next few days:
Possibly improve the notebook and notes visually.
Add a company net worth value to the Company Rating panel (F1).
This will take into account debt, vehicle value, resources, the house, and the office.
It will be a small panel for your own tracking and also just a nice way to see how far your company has come.
A major rework of the office employees window and the NPC system itself — including their levels and abilities.
Possibly add a system for gradually unlocking the office.
At the beginning of a new game, you may no longer have full access to every room.
Some rooms would need to be repaired, and the ability to do that would unlock at certain levels.
The repair itself would cost money and take a certain number of in-game days.
Further plans that I’d like to get to as soon as possible:
Rework active contracts and their visual presentation.
Right now, I’m not happy with how this panel turned out.
It feels too inconvenient and not informative enough.
I want to rework it visually and also change the information window, which currently mostly shows only what you selected during contract preparation.
In the future, the information button will be renamed, and inside you’ll be able to choose different ways to interact with an active contract.
For example:
emergency or additional crews;
longer work shifts;
stricter supervision;
and other options.
Each of these decisions will affect the final result of the contract.
Add the personal office and many new functions inside it.
I want to keep part of the top HUD — time, date, and speed controls.
But the room itself will be focused on a different type of gameplay.
This is where I want the next stage of the game’s development to begin.
I already have a lot of ideas in mind, such as:
advertising campaigns;
city contracts;
tenders;
an architectural bureau;
technologies and licenses;
interviews;
NPCs with their own reputation;
company reputation within the city, state / region;
and much more.
There are honestly too many ideas in my head right now, so I’m simply sharing them with you as they come.
I also want to ask you: if you have your own ideas, please share them.
If you look through comments under previous news posts, you’ll notice that many features were not part of my original plan at all, but still made it into the game thanks to your suggestions.
And one more small request.
If you like this plan and the direction the game is moving in, feel free to leave a like.
Not just as a “read it” reaction, but specifically if you like where the game is heading.
And if you don’t — tell me what you think.
That feedback is genuinely important to me because I don’t want to lose touch with you.
Thank you for your support, and for continuing to follow both the game and its development.
As always, you’re the best.
And me…
I fix. I read. I work! 🦝🔧
