Hi! It’s me again — apparently someone who refuses to acknowledge that sleep exists 😄
After less than 4 hours of sleep, I finished all the planned fixes and also made a few additional visual and functional improvements.
For today, I’m done with this side of the project, and right now I’m starting work on the foundation of a new window that will be responsible for assigning and configuring the work of certain office NPCs.
Along with this system, a new profession will also be added — Procurement Manager.
This also includes the updated market. The visual part is already almost ready — I have all the necessary images. Now I just need to connect everything to the game and adjust the scripts for a system with four different suppliers.
Tomorrow I plan to start integrating the market and, if everything goes well, release an update with it. You’ll have a little time to look at this new beauty before the new office worker system arrives 😄
I’ll try to release the worker system the following day.
Of course, I already have plenty of new ideas in my head. Some of the simpler ones are adding, for example, a Cleaner and an IT Specialist or Mechanic to make the office feel a little more alive.
But for now, these are more like fun possibilities for future development and extra variety.
After I finish the current panels, I also have a few more ideas and small plans:
Personal balance — a small window where you’ll be able to see the approximate value of your vehicle fleet, company, house, and other assets. It would mainly serve as a visually satisfying indicator of what you’ve achieved during your playthrough.
Additional workforce — the ability to send extra workers to a delayed contract in order to speed up the work.
New achievements — I want to add a few more achievements so that, in addition to in-game progress, you’ll also receive more rewards on Steam. I’m not a big fan of overly difficult or tedious achievements, so at the moment there is really only one truly long one — spending 10 years in the game.
Beginning work on construction scenes that players will be able to visit in order to speed up contracts or take part in events happening directly on the construction site.
Visiting the vehicle market. This location will also need to be built. If you really want to save money, you’ll be able to buy used machinery, but you’ll have to negotiate a little, and its condition and required repair percentage may be far from ideal.
I could keep adding to this list for a very long time 😄
And this is not just a list of promises or ideas for the sake of ideas. I try to talk about things that I genuinely want to make and that I realistically can implement with my current skills and abilities.
But first, let’s bring our core systems to a really solid state.
The office, contracts, garage, machinery, resources, and everything connected to them should reach the point where we can honestly say:
“Alright, this part is done. Now it’s time to move forward.”
And then I’ll be very happy to start exploring new directions.
As always, I’m happy to read your ideas and suggestions. And please keep reporting any bugs or problems you find — it genuinely helps.
Thank you so much for your attention, your support, and for continuing to stay with me.
What you see now is only the beginning.
Wishing everyone a great start to the weekend!
I fix. I read. I work! 🦝🔧
