Soul Savior Alpha v0.0.2 - Patch Notes
Hello everyone!
A new alpha update is now live! This update focuses on gameplay improvements, UI polish, bug fixes, and performance optimizations. Thank you to everyone who has been testing the game and sharing feedback!
New Features
- * Added animated text for phase transitions.
- * HUD elements are now localized.
- * More options are now configurable in the **Options** menu, including screen resolution.
- * The first Preparation Phase now automatically shows the Shop to better guide new players.
- * Added spell hotkey indicators to the HUD.
- * Added elemental damage and spell type icons in both the Shop and the HUD.
- * Owned spells are now displayed in the Shop and Pause menu.
- * Reputation-locked spell upgrades are now visible, with a description explaining why they cannot yet be purchased.
- * Players can now move to cancel an AOE preview or trap placement preview.
- * Treasure chests have been slightly enlarged to improve visibility.
Balance Changes
- * Increased the cost of spell upgrades.
- * **Bad Souls** now slow enemies by **50%** (previously **30%**).
- * Increased the speed of the launch animation for monsters hit by the Ejection Trap.
- * Renamed **"Flame"** to **"Dragon's Breath"** throughout the game to avoid confusion with the Fire element.
- * Updated Codex descriptions to correctly refer to **Flat Damage** instead of percentage damage where appropriate.
UI & Quality of Life
- * Updated the Shop icon.
- * Removed the keyboard layout visual to reduce player confusion.
- * Hidden several unnecessary graphics options.
- * Renamed **Benchmark** to **Auto Configuration** in the Options menu.
- * Replaced several **"Quit"** buttons with **"Return to Main Menu"** for better clarity.
Bug Fixes
- * Fixed an issue allowing traps to be placed outside the playable map.
- * Fixed a bug that could cause Level 4 equipment to appear.
Performance
- * Optimized several shadow and lighting settings to reduce performance costs.
