Agari: what's new (1.7.1 to 1.12.1)

A summary of what's changed since the last patch notes. This is a bigger update than usual, so the highlights:

  • AI Improvements. CPU opponent skills continue to be improved. A new "AI Difficulty" setting (Settings > Match) lets you pick your opponents: Select Normal for stronger opponents, Easy for a more casual experience.

  • Match History. A new History screen on the main menu lets you browse every match recorded on your machine. Open any match to see a per-round score ledger, and select a round for the full result: the winning hand, yaku, han/fu, and dora. You can filter your matches by placement, match format, mode, and best hand, and your filters are remembered between sessions.

  • 3D match replays. From a match's History page you can replay any recorded round right on the game table: all four hands face up, with wait and danger indicators, stepping turn by turn or playing through continuously. Useful for reviewing what went wrong (or right), or studying what your opponents were really holding.

  • Online matchplay reconnection. Get disconnected mid-match and Agari now hands your seat back when you return mid-match, and auto-reconnects if your link to the host drops. Plus other multiplayer reliability fixes. Note: online play is peer-to-peer... client drops and reconnects are handled, but if the host loses connection, the match still ends for everyone. That's the nature of P2P.

  • Smaller additions. A "Highlight Dora" toggle (Settings > Match, on by default); separate Menu Music and Riichi Music toggles (Settings > Audio); the right-click skip/discard shortcut is now on by default; and the Audio settings tab has been reorganized.

  • This release also includes many smaller fixes and polish passes: smooth scrolling in menus, and a long list of interface and online stability improvements.

Thank you so much for playing Agari and for all of your feedback and suggestions. I hope you enjoy the update!
