Hello tree victims!

Earlier this week, we revealed a new trailer at the Future Games Show at gamescom. It was quite a surprise to be invited to such an event, but it was an good chance to finally announce the release date for Trees Hate You: November 16, 2026!

That'll make it close to a year since I announced Trees Hate You in late 2025. Now we just need to wait a few more months to finally get the punchline of this joke of a game.

New Key Art

You may have noticed that Trees Hate You has new cover art, thanks to the illustrator Austin Bradley. We commissioned the old art early in development, before we had a clear idea of the kinds of trees that would appear in the game, so it felt right to revisit it now to better represent more of the kinds of traps you'll actually find in the game.

Progress Update?

Not much to share this time, since most of the focus lately has been on spoilery late-game levels. But we've continued to add more tree types, more traps, and more secrets for those who explore away from the main path. This is turning into a pretty weird game, but I'll shut up now so there are still some surprises when it releases in a few months.

But fear not, we’ve still got some seeds of information to share with you. First off, localization for several languages is up. While there is not much text in the gam…Community24 Apr 2026Demo Out Now!In time for the game's inclusion in the Wishlisted showcase, I'm excited to share a demo of Trees Hate You. Although many have already been sharing their playthroughs of a version of the demo that I put on Itch a while back, this is its first time being public here on Steam. The demo covers the first chapter of a horrible adventure. Design a character (or not), and then escape this awful forest…
