WELCOME TO EARLY ACCESS

BeastLink · published

Thank you for supporting indie developers! BeastLink was created by a small team of passionate developers, and we’re excited for you to play. Here’s what you can expect if you jump in today, and this is only the beginning. We’ll continue adding new content, features, and improvements throughout Early Access.

WAYS TO PLAY:

CONVERGENCE

Jump into online multiplayer and play all of the game modes listed below in either PvP or PvE. Servers will be available across a range of skill levels. In PvE, each time you and your team wins, the server ‘levels up’ progressively increasing in difficulty each time. The harder the game gets, the more you must work together. How high can your team go? Elite teams make it past level 10.

STORY MODE

Take on a series of single-player missions designed to introduce you to the game’s core mechanics and help you master each Beast.

PLAYGROUND

Play any of the game modes below in single-player or with friends in a private session.

BATTLE ARENA

A dedicated arena for Beast-on-Beast battles. Play solo against a CPU, invite your friends to battle, or play alone as a Beast and wreak havoc on the city.

THE GAME MODES:

HAZARD PAY

This mode challenges you to protect scientists as they collect data from the wild Beasts roaming the map. You can transport them in a vehicle and drive them near the Beasts to collect data, or lead them on foot while they follow behind.

  • PvP: One scientist is shared between both opposing teams, creating a tug-of-war over the data they collect. Each team must escort the scientist around the map to gather as much Beast data as possible. The opposing team can steal the scientist and collect data for themselves, reducing the amount of data your team has already collected. At the end of the match, the team with the most collected data wins.

  • PvE: Multiple scientists are scattered throughout the map. Your objective is to find and gather a set number of scientists, help them collect their data, and safely escort them back to the safe zone before the match ends.

*Pro Tip - If you BeastLink and defeat a wild Beast it will remain knocked out for a short amount of time, giving you a safe window to scan it without worrying about it moving or attacking.

BEAST BRAWL

This is a traditional kill-based mode where humans collect serum drops to build up enough to BeastLink. Each drop grants max serum, giving you the resources you need to become a Beast. Points are awarded for Beast takedowns, so once you BeastLink, focus on hunting down the enemy team’s Beasts.

  • PvP: Battle the enemy team’s Beasts. The team with the most Beast takedowns at the end of the match wins.

  • PvE: Work together to take down the wild Beasts roaming the map. Take them down a set number of times before the match ends to secure the win.

*Pro Tip - As a human, you can use full serum to supercharge your explosives, dealing double damage to enemy Beasts and helping your team bring them down.

COLONY PURGE

The map is divided into zones, each containing an infested building hiding a nest of Brutes. Brutes are nasty mutations that aren’t as large as Kaiju and are highly aggressive. Destroy the building to uncover the nest, then destroy the nest and enemies to begin capturing the zone. You'll need to hold the zone for a set amount of time to secure it, but be prepared to defend it from incoming threats.

  • PvP: Enemy team players can contest the zone and attempt to steal it from your team, while swarms of brutes attack to make things even more difficult. The team with the most zones captured by the end of the match wins.

  • PvE: Each zone is packed with significantly more brutes, requiring your team to work together to clear the area and capture a set number of zones before the match ends.

*Pro Tip - As a Beast, you can help defend your team’s zone by eating brutes, hunting enemy humans, and driving off wild Beasts that threaten your capture.

TIPS, TRICKS, AND WHAT NOT TO MISS

Tip #1: Choosing Your Loadout

  • Choose a rocket launcher or MPAD in your loadout so you have a way to destroy buildings

  • Pick the parachute early in your unlocks to save you from heights

  • Use the VO2 Regulator upgrade to get around quicker!

  • Sacrifice some Serum to immediately spawn into a Fixed Wing Jet fighter in the Reform screen (spawn options are in the lower right).

Tip #2: Navigating The Game World

  • If you are driving a car and need to get somewhere quickly, sacrifice some of the car's health by driving through the buildings

  • Stay away from Gary. Dude is way too excitable. If you don’t though, he’ll point you towards the collectables that can be found in the Convergence game mode.

  • Be sure to return weapon parts to the safe area, but don’t waste time on them when you aren’t sure you’re going to win.

Tip #3: Encountering Enemy Beasts

  • Full serum boosts your weapon damage vs Beasts

  • Beasts can eat you if you get too close. Eating humans grants Beasts additional health.

Tip #4: Encountering Enemy Brutes

  • Aim for the mouth on lamprey with non explosive weapons. Their armor plating stops normal bullets.

  • Shoot the legs off a spider to take off a chunk of its health

  • Sprint and jump to dislodge a mosquito that has attached itself to you.

Tip #5: Playing As A Beast

  • Walk through buildings and watch them crumble as you gain Mind Sync

  • Having higher Mind Sync at the start of a battle gives you a significant upper hand.
