Launching August 28th! What to Expect on Day One

Rocket Engineer · published

Hi everyone!

I hope you are all doing well. Today, I want to set some expectations and share what you can expect on launch day.

As previously announced, the game will launch into Early Access on August 28th at 1:00 PM EDT for $9.99 USD, with a 20% launch discount ($7.99 USD) for the first two weeks.

What to Expect in the First Release

  • Explore the System: 3 landable bodies (2 featuring extractable resources), plus a fully simulated star you probably shouldn't fly into.

  • Build & Launch: Construct your first launch site and design rockets using a wide variety of parts.

  • Off-World Logistics: Extract, process, and use resources from other planets to construct new buildings or launch rockets directly from them.

  • Astronaut Management: Keep your crew alive by managing vital resources like water and food.

  • Progression: You will begin with kerosene engines. Once you reach the Moon, you can process LH2 propellant to be able to use more efficient and powerful engines.

The Roadmap Ahead Shortly after launch, my primary focus will be on bug fixing and any immediate improvements to ensure stability.

A few weeks later, you can expect the first small content update. This update will largely focus on the red planet. I originally hoped to include it at launch, but chose to give it a little more development time rather than compromise the stability of the initial release. Translations are already partially implemented and will also be rolling out in the coming weeks.

As mentioned in the release date announcement, the first major update is planned for 2027. This doesn't mean development will be quiet until then smaller updates, fixes, improvements, translations, and additional content will continue to arrive in the meantime.

One Small Favor! Before I sign off, I have one quick favor to ask. If you play the game on launch day, please consider leaving a Steam review once you've had a chance to form an opinion. Positive or negative, reviews are incredibly useful both for feedback and for helping other players decide whether the game is for them.

Thank you so much for your continued support, and I can't wait to see you on launch day!If you run into any issues at launch, please report them through [Discord/Steam Discussions]. I'll be keeping a close eye on your feedback.
