Hello everyone!
It's been just over a month since the release of update 0.50.0, and during that time the game has received several smaller patches. The current version is now 0.51.2.
Below is a brief overview of everything that has been fixed, improved, and added to the game.
All of the changes listed below are already available in the game and were introduced in patches 0.50.1 through 0.51.2.
Fixed an issue that could cause the player to partially lose control of the character.
This usually resulted in the player no longer being able to interact with the environment. Various combinations of player actions could trigger this issue.
The cause was a major overhaul of the character control system compared to the previous version. The new system provides much better control over the character's various states from the developer's side. However, it also meant that situations which previously resulted in soft locks could now turn into hard locks.
Over the past month, I have done my best to identify and fix all known cases, including those reported by players during the first few days after the update's release. Thank you to everyone who took the time to report these issues!
Fixed a funny bug that allowed Ealish to climb over obstacles almost anywhere, instead of only at designated climbing spots.
As part of this change, the entire climbing system has been reworked. Climbing over obstacles now uses the Interact (E) key instead of Space. This also fixes situations where Ealish would sometimes fail to find a valid climbing point on the first attempt.
Fixed several minor issues with puzzles on the Research Floor.
Removed an outdated note from Mark's room.
After the release of version 0.50.0, players could find a note in Mark's room that no longer matched the current state of the game. It has now been removed.
Fixed hints for undiscovered journal entries.
Previously, some hints could point players to the wrong floor, causing them to search for journal entries in locations where they didn't exist. All hints have now been reviewed and corrected.
Fixed an issue with the Chinese (Simplified) localization for the Research Floor.
After the release of patch 0.50.0, many of Ealish's new dialogue lines were missing from the Chinese (Simplified) localization due to a build issue. This has now been fixed, and all Research Floor content is available in Chinese.
Fixed an issue that could occur while climbing over obstacles.
Previously, it was possible to crouch during the climbing animation, which could leave the character in an unpredictable state. This issue has now been resolved.
Fixed an issue with the crafting window.
Previously, if you selected a crafting quantity greater than one and started crafting using the Left Mouse Button, the selected quantity would reset to one, causing only a single item to be crafted. This now works correctly.
Fixed various clothing clipping issues.
Over the past month, parts of the outfit system have been improved to reduce clipping. I tried to address as many issues as possible, including shoe straps clipping through socks or tights, tights protruding through certain outfits, and a number of other visual inconsistencies.
New items have been placed throughout the Research Floor, and two new plush toys have been added.
In addition, two existing plush toys — Plush Caterpillar and Plush Crocodile — have been moved to the Research Floor.
The plush toy cabinet has also been updated to accommodate more toys.
Improved the Basement puzzle.
The unnecessary note has been removed, the poster has been updated, and a new comment from Ealish has been added when interacting with it. This should make the connection between the poster and the wall panels much clearer.
Improved the crafting window.
Small icons have been added to make it easier to see how many required materials you currently have and how many are needed to craft an item. This replaces the previous "Items A / Items B" labels with a more intuitive visual display.
Improved the rotating disk puzzle on the Residential Floor.
Previously, rotating the disks using Q / E (and the equivalent controls on a gamepad) felt inverted due to the puzzle's orientation in the environment. The controls have now been adjusted to make the rotation feel more intuitive.
Expanded the main storage in Ealish's room.
The storage now uses a scrollable list, allowing it to hold more clothing items.
This is a temporary solution, as I plan to completely redesign the clothing storage system in a future update.
Fixed an issue with the elevator doors.
In some cases, Ealish could get stuck if she tried to enter or leave the elevator while the doors were closing. To prevent this, a collision barrier has been added that blocks the elevator entrance while the doors are closing.
Improved the Simple Panties by replacing the model with a higher-quality version.
Added a new underwear set (bra and panties) in three colors: red, black, and white.
Added a short white crop top.
Added two versions of denim shorts: new and worn.
I think that's everything.
I'm already working on the next update, which is currently planned for late October.
Before I wrap up, I'd like to answer the question I get asked most often: When will the new area be available?
At the moment, the new area is planned for release towards the end of the year, most likely in December. However, there's still a chance that development may take a little longer, in which case its release will be postponed to the beginning of next year.
I'd also like to point out that this doesn't mean updates will stop. Regular patches will continue to be released—it's just that creating an entirely new area takes considerably more time than developing regular updates.
Thank you all for supporting Lunar Eclipse! ❤️
See you again in the next update - coming this October!
