Hi Technicians,
Halcyon Energy is pleased to announce an expansion to your workplace hazard portfolio, provided at no additional cost to you: fire.
In addition to fires, new surge events have been introduced — plant-wide blackouts, radiation backflows, and total darkness. Halcyon trusts you will adapt accordingly.
Where does development stand?
The core game loop is complete. What's left is the work that turns a working game into a shippable one. Balancing, UI, and the tutorial. The tutorial is the key milestone, because it's what enables the demo: there are a few systems in the game that genuinely need explaining before players are dropped into the chaos.
On the demo itself - it'll be the full game, available for a limited window, not a stripped-down slice. That's deliberate. The game isn't released yet, and the feedback I actually need depends on people experiencing the whole thing, cascading systems and all. A trimmed demo would give me trimmed feedback.
I'm balancing this against a full-time job, so I'm aiming for late July for a playtest demo, but I'd rather ship it right than ship it rushed, so if it needs a little longer to be good, it'll get it. I'll start aiming to do more regular updates as I get closer to dropping the demo, so you can track when it will be available.
Summary:
Game balancing
UI work (menus and player HUD)
Tutorial
Demo targeted for late July.
Thank you for your continued service.
