NEW: Floor Guardians
Three floors now end in a miniboss lair instead of a regular final room. Each guardian drops a legendary chest on defeat.
Big Della - Stage 8 (NEW)
- The lights go out. She watches you from the dark — glowing softly, and only hurtable while she pulses white.
- Soak her with too much damage at once and she vanishes, reappearing across the room with a fresh wave of kamikaze Dellas at her side.
- The longer she survives, the bigger her swarm grows. Find her, punish every window, and end it before the room fills.
Big Golem - Stage 13 (NEW)
- A stone colossus plated in crystal armor - break the plating before his health bar moves (element counterplay applies).
- Throws claw volleys at everyone in the room. Get dragged halfway in and he entombs you in a ring of rock - with boulders inbound. Break out or dodge inside.
- Point-blank isn't safe either: his claw slam can trap you where you stand, and he periodically pounds the whole arena with falling rocks. Watch the red ground markers.
- Calls pack golems to the fight the longer he lives.
Big Georg - Stage 17 (NEW)
- A storm mage who fights at range: fans of sky-bolts that race across the whole room, marching lines of lightning that chase you to the walls, and a six-ring lightning-ball nova with counter-rotating rings - read the gaps, they keep moving.
- Get close and he blinks away in a crack of static that punishes whoever chased him.
- Casts faster the lower his health gets.
Guardian rules (all three)
- Immune to stuns, freezes and knockback - no perma-locking the boss (slows and damage effects still work).
- No one-shots in either direction: a single hit can never remove more than 20% of a guardian's max health.
- Health scales with the floor they spawn on and your party size.
NEW: A Living Soundtrack
The entire soundtrack is now generated live while you play - no looping tracks. A medieval-modal engine (real orchestral samples, dorian/phrygian/aeolian modes, estampie rhythms) composes the music at runtime:
- The music knows what's happening. Camp and the trader get calm, breathing arrangements; dungeon floors run a driving beat - and the moment enemies start hunting you a war-drum hit lands and a combat layer stacks on top until the fight is over.
- Boss fights escalate with the kill - the arrangement stacks up as the boss's health drops, peaking as you close it out.
- Your body is in the mix: at low health the music blurs underwater and a heartbeat rises until you heal or die.
- Every dungeon floor rolls a fresh composition - new key, new progressions, new motifs. Nothing repeats between runs.
- Not feeling the current piece? Roll a new song from the settings menu, or pin a mood and let it evolve.
Lightning Overhaul
- All lightning in the game now shares one look: layered glow-and-core jagged bolts with forks and a re-strike flicker - Big Georg's storms, the chain-lightning passive, and the Storm Caller Staff's sky strikes.
- Sky attacks telegraph with red ground markers that appear one step ahead of the strike front - you can read where the storm goes next.
- Reduce Flashing setting is fully respected: steady bolts, no flicker, softer flashes.
Fixes
- Fixed a challenge-room soft-lock: golems could occasionally survive at 0 HP and never die, leaving the room impossible to finish. The same latent bug was fixed in all three floor guardians.
- Golem hooks no longer fly through walls - claws now clang off and retract (dungeon walls, arena walls and rock walls alike).
- The Shard Champion is now properly targeted by auto-attack.
- Frozen Dellas no longer launch their kamikaze charge while iced - the freeze actually holds them mid-lock now.
- Fixed boss-fight drums carrying over into the trader's (and main menu's) calm music after a boss kill.
- Multiplayer: a friend leaving to the main menu no longer leaves their ghost standing in the host's camp, and rejoining no longer creates a duplicate of them.
- Multiplayer: Big Georg's ball nova is now sent as a single reliable packet - no more missing balls in the pattern on spotty connections.
- Sky-falling attacks (storm bolts, staff strikes) now sort correctly against walls - no more lightning hiding behind a wall it struck in front of.
