Cthulhu's Reach: Devil Reef · published · build 22711813
Hey investigators! Something has shifted in the deep. New pacts are being forged, and the ranks of those willing to descend into Devil Reef are no longer fixed. This update brings one of our most anticipated features: unlockable characters, a significantly reworked stats page, balance adjustments, and a string of fixes pulled from the dark. Read on.
The roster no longer gives up its secrets freely. New characters must be earned through ritual - complete the conditions of a character’s unlock, and they will answer your call. Silas is the first to join this system, his covenant sealed through deeds performed in the dark. For Silas, faith is gone. Something else remains.
We've overhauled the stats page to give you a far more transparent picture of your character's power. Hovering over any stat now reveals a detailed tooltip with a plain-language description of what the stat does. Also adding currently equipped weapons to the stats page showing you current stats anytime during your runs, accounting for base damage and accumulated upgrades. The page is now fully scrollable, and all four school damage types (Kinetic, Psychic, Occult, and Astral) are represented with dedicated labels, so you can see exactly which dark arts are doing the work.
Hunter's Edge has been strengthened. The damage bonus it provides has been increased to 10%, making it a more compelling choice when building for aggression.
Addressed additional Act 2 map and key spawning irregularities
Fixed trigger events on Act 3 doors behaving incorrectly
Deep One 3 no longer bears wounds while idling - the blood has been stilled
Rifle muzzle flash restored; projectile sparks added across all projectile weapons
Fixed broken overlay label positioning after a pool parenting change
Resolved weapon attack context modifier issues
Fixed a dead input listener on hold interactions
Corrected missing initialization on Revolver and Rifle bullet pool parenting
As always, thank you for descending into the abyss with us. Your reports and feedback keep the reef from consuming itself - keep them coming.
