Hello there!
Game development is in version 0.60 at the moment and this means:
Released version 0.60 of the demo.
Released an internal Beta version 0.60 containing levels 1 to 6.
Version 0.60 introduces level 6 which is slightly different from levels 1 to 5.
I had a LOT of fun working on that one and I hope the players will have as much fun playing it.
News item about level 6 along with level 5 will come in separate.
Here I want to talk about the demo which contains the 0.60 changes to the game engine.
So let's begin.
Initially this game was planned as an action only game. Kinda like a 3D version of 80s swordplay platformer games (I don't know if I'm allowed to mention names here).
Recent comments added on top of a personal sense of lack in gameplay made me realize there is room for one more big aspect to this game which I'm able to implement. And so I did.
You are now able to drag bodies to secluded areas.
A guard stumbling upon a body will be alert and start chasing you, so don't leave bodies lying around in central places like corridors.
You can steal guard uniforms.
While wearing a guard uniform, you are less likely to be detected, but if you come too close to a guard, you will be detected and your disguise will be revealed.
Some of these were already existing in previous versions and some are now more polished:
Crouching reduces the chance to be detected.
Striking a guard from behind will cause a back-stab.
In addition to above, every strike to a guard, whether with a blade or an arrow, while you are not detected, will cause instant take down.
An alerted guard will trigger nearby guards.
A defeated guard will trigger nearby guards.
Missing a guard with an arrow will trigger all guards close the the arrow's impact area.
Collect Moonray Crystals.
Aside from being a nice collectible, two features will be added to them in the following versions. One in-game and one in Custom Chapter.
In addition to a news item about level 5 and 6, there is a major announcement coming up, so stay tuned!
In the mean time, check out the demo. It's even more fun now.
Please wishlist if you haven't done so yet. Every +1 to the wishlists gives me a major morale boost and helps me in the development.
Also don't forget, I'm developing this game for you! If you have a comment, suggestion or a bug report, I'll be happy to hear it.
Me, in the meantime, will work on level 7 and all the shebang around it.
Thanks for reading!
Cheers!
