Polished some stones this week. They sparkle now.
I’ve been able to get a decent amount of work done over the past couple weeks!
• Finished the boss concept for the Jelly Fields
• Reworked several sprites
• Added a new Random Event for the Jelly Fields
• Shored up the Save System to be both more stable and more secure, just in case anyone decides to download a save file from a less than trustworthy source
• Fixed a couple issues with some of the world chunks and their alignment
• Added a “time since last save” notice to the Quit Game prompt
• Reworked the intro sequence for better pacing
Sure have, thanks for noticing! The work itself is coming together nicely and all of the feedback I’ve gotten from all of you has been so insightful, helpful, and encouraging. Thank you!
Here's an example of the work that's been happening:

Things are coming along nicely!
Now my biggest challenge is promoting the game so that I can get more eyes on it and help more people enjoy the wonders of Cats vs Aliens. I know all of you reading this right now are in love with the game, of course, but there are so many other folks out there who have no idea it even exists, and I’d love your help in getting the word out.
Right now, the best thing I can ask of you is to share my YouTube shorts to people on your socials. I can only maintain Reddit, YouTube, BlueSky, and Discord myself (that feels like so much when I type it out), and since I’m just me, myself, and I working on this, I can’t afford a social media manager to handle all this stuff for me (though, that IS the dream).
So, I am once again asking you to please share anything and everything you can about the game to your socials.
Take a picture of your cat playing. Take a picture of your dog playing and being salty that he’s not in it. Take a picture of your fish wishing she could play. In the event that your pets are losers who aren’t into gaming, take a picture of yourself playing. (I’m kidding, your pets are not losers. Probably.)
Every little bit of help in this area is so impactful for a solo indie dev like myself because we only have so many hours in a day, and a lot of those get eaten up by coding, art, and other things that make finding the time and energy to post and keep up with socials just… really hard.
Uhhh…. Yes please!
I am looking to give out some exclusive first-look demo keys.
If you’re a streamer, and you’d like a chance to get your paws on Cats vs Aliens before anyone else, please let me know over on Reddit or Discord, and I’ll send you all the details! Size of your channel does not matter.
