Hello and welcome, Invaders!

Dialogue works now!  The upgrade to the new version of Dialogue Manager (by Nathan Hoad) was successfully completed this week.  I’ve now reached feature parity to the Godot 3 version of the game for that system.

And same with Steam Input, including automatic glyph matching for any of the 200+ controllers that Steam supports.  Now you can customize your controls the way YOU want to, and the game will automatically update your glyphs to match whatever controller and mappings you have.

That’s all for now.  Home life has blown up a bit with several pretty big things happening all at once.  When it rains cats and aliens, it pours, as the saying goes, right? But it’s all getting done despite the universe’s best attempts to throw wrenches in my gears.  I will get there eventually, the proverbial tortoise in this race against my own motivational reserves.

Stay tuned for further updates!

P.S. A special thank you to the 367 people (as of this writing) who have this game on their wishlist.  That you’ve stuck with me so long throughout all of the up, downs, messes, wins, and surprises both good and bad keeps me going even when things are annoying and it would be easier to just give up.  You’re doing more than you realize to help me bring 3-year-old-me’s aspirations to reality.

Happy Invading!

For the next few days, the playtest will be open to anyone and everyone who wants to give it a go! There’s not a lot to do right now, as I’ve been working through some very frustrating issues with Steam Input, but I think I’ve finally managed to unbungle the setup and make everything work. I’m getting closer and closer to demo release! I know, I keep saying that, but it keeps being true. Today I have a vital question for you: yellow or green? I like both of these colors, so help me choose by leaving a comment or reaching out on Discord . Happy Invading!Community26 Apr 2026Cats vs. Aliens Progress Update 4/26/2026Hello and welcome, Invaders! Things in real life have gone haywire. BUT… I’m still here, still working, still doing my best. I am determined to finish this thing properly. And I will stubbornly hold on until I do. Most recently, I have: 1) Finished implementing the loot system 2) Implemented the enemy waves and escalation system 3) Refactored enemies to be easier to add to and maintain (importa…
