Hello Harmonious people, and happy new year! 🥳🎉🎈
Here is some fresh news from a random indie developer!
I've spent the last two years working on my own game, and switching from the modding scene (I've started coding in 2014 with Skyrim, then I've worked for 4 years for the mod Mayhem, for X3) to the indie scene was – and still is – an adventure! At the time I'm writing this, Roots of Harmony has sold about 180 copies, which is not so bad, compared to some other games that have invested a lot more money into their project than I did. It has also been wishlisted more than 500 times, which also doesn't sound so bad for a game that I've released without any form of marketing (hint: don't do that). Of course, the developer of Warsim, Huw, has been very kind to include my game into one of his news, and I cannot thank him enough for that, as the majority of wishlists I received come from that announcement.
But of course this is not enough to "live and drink", as they say in Caves of Qud. I think RoH is a pleasant game, and that it deserves more attention than it currently has (my opinion might be slightly biased, I'll admit), so I did a few things those past few weeks:
Giving a Steam review is extremely important at this stage. Why? Because below 10 reviews (from people who bought the game), Steam's algorithm basically ignores the game, as it doesn't have an official score on its main page. So please consider leaving a little thumb! 🤗
Have fun, and live in harmony! 🌲🦋🌲
