Surprisingly lot happened during last week in and out of the core game dev. Short updates below...
Lucky find (like with epic loot ːsteamhappyː) was that the domain gate-project.com was still free to be taken. As emergency action, all work was temporarily set on hold to get it up and running with basic info. Just as the Steam store page, it will be from now on frequently updated.
A lot happened since the trailer release in beginning of September. To reflect the latest content and status of the development, a new trailer was released.
The Gate Project universe is expanding rapidly. As such, to keep the game's main story line and all other elements coherent and in line, the wiki is growing as well. Just to name a few exciting locations, which were added to the plans: Proxima Centauri b, Trappist 1 d, Gliese 667 Cc...
Gate Project cares about authenticity - as such, preferably real locations are added, which were confirmed to exist by NASA, ESA, ... This way, the game can also educate on a matter or two regarding real-life astronomy. It is an extra effort to go through databases etc., ... but I care.
Steams Real-Time Strategy Fest is coming in January 20-27 2025. While Gate Project will only appear there as an "upcoming title", it's still a nice achievement to be among there among other titles.
Regarding game content additions: Out of combat gameplay is a key part of the game. Whether it's research or development of new weapons and technology, it is important, that this one fits to the game - and as such they have been developed with easy extend-ability in mind.
Xmas is coming, and new year, too! As such, wish you all the best and a good time!
