Little Update

On a chilly December evening in 1925, the stage is set...

It's been a year since I started working on Verismo with my complete focus. There's been plenty of breaks and empty days but just as many intense weeks of focus.

I can't believe it's been almost 6 months since I uploaded the demo. Time is flying fast.

Before I disappear into the void again I wanted to share how my babies have changed over the year.

The main cast in June 2024 (the first time I drew any of them. I had no clue what style to go for)

The main cast today. Looking spiffy.

I've been mulling over my progress since I uploaded the demo in January. I've decided to think of that demo as my first "game", the final demo as the second game, and the release as my third. I feel a little more accomplishment having finished the first step of this journey.

My goal is to finish this next demo by the end of the year. There is a ton of art to do up-front, but because it all takes place in one town, it'll cut back on the art I have to do later, hopefully.

Anyway.

A dopo.

I was going to wait to make this post until June, which is the 2-ish year anniversary since I started working on VERISMO, but I figured this is a good enough excuse to celebrate early and share some updates. By random chance, an old meme animation I made 3 years ago got picked up by…Game update6 Feb 2026Updated Key RebindingA small update to remove the plugin I was using for key rebinding. I wanted to include AZERTY keyboard options but since default controls are either WASD or arrow keys, I figured it's a fine compromise for now. Proper key rebinding options will be supported in the future. It was removed because it was strange to be stuck with only Z to confirm on the main menu. Now: · "Z", "Enter" or "Space" to…Game update1 Feb 2026Demo Update 1Better give them a show, then. What's new in this update? · A SPOOKY new intro teeming with mystery · New original tracks as well as public domain music remixed to perfection. Demo will no longer flag any copyrighted music. · Revamped UI, though it's not complete · Updated footstep sounds that change with the terrain · Added an indicator over most interactable items, focusing on the more story…
