Our Lovecraftian action-roguelike co-op dungeon crawler continues to evolve! The latest update introduces a Meta Progression System, letting players spend Dagonite between runs on tiered, permanent upgrades that carry over into future dives. Early perks include "Deep Pockets", increasing starting gold.A new Abyssal Reclamation feature also lets players reclaim their Dagonite investments and experiment freely, while Character Traits give each adventurer unique innate bonuses shown in their wardrobe bios. Additional polish includes hold-to-confirm safeguards on upgrades, refined Daily Tides leaderboards, and optimized level exit visuals for smoother Steam Deck performance.

  • Meta Progression System - A new permanent upgrade system is coming to the Stats page. Spend Dagonite between runs to unlock tiered upgrades that carry over across all your future dives into Devil Reef. Starting upgrades include ones like "Deep Pockets," which modifies your starting gold at run start.

  • Abyssal Reclamation - Made a mistake with your Dagonite? A new option lets you reclaim all spent Dagonite and start your upgrade path fresh, so you're never locked into a build you've grown to regret.

  • Character Traits - Each playable character now has unique innate stat bonuses visible in their wardrobe bio, giving every adventurer a more distinct identity before you even set foot on the reef.

  • Hold-to-Confirm on purchase buttons - Meta upgrade purchases, weapon unlocks, weapon upgrades, and the reroll buttons now require a brief hold to trigger, so no more accidental clicks draining your hard-earned resources.

  • Daily Accumulated Score - The leaderboard during Daily Tides now shows active souls competing alongside you, and a timing bug with the death screen on a second attempt has been fixed.

  • Level Exit VFX Optimization - The level exit VFX has been stylized and optimized to fix a low frame rate issue on Steam Deck.

Full rundown below. Gameplay & Balance · Added Camera Comfort settings: a noise slider to tone down the gameplay camera's wobble, and a rotation lock for anyone who wants the view held dead still. Our recent hotfixes were tagged 1.2 , 1.3 , 1.4 , and 1.5 . Those numbers were a mistake. They should have carried the same 1.0.x pattern as this release, so 1.5 should have read 1.0.5 , 1.4 should have read 1.0.4 , and so on.
