Hello there!
So, what is Guards vs Goats?
Guards vs Goats is a first-person medieval action game which is linear and story based.
Dwelling on the word "medieval": The game doesn't take place on a real-world historical time and location, but on the other hand, doesn't contain fantasy elements like magic and dragons.
Some of the game concepts are:
- 10 levels based on a linear story.
- Although the game is linear, there are no waypoint markers and you have a chance to explore the castles you "visit".
- No quicksave. You progress in a story and your bookmark gets updated as you proceed but between bookmarks, if you die, you get yo repeat from the previous bookmark.
- Each level consists of cutscenes and one or two of the following modes:
- Exploration.
- Horde mode.
- Escape.
- Boss fight.
- Custom game mode:
Every time you complete a level, the castle presented on that level is unlocked. You can create yourself a custom goal based level (without the story part) selecting that castle, guards type, game mode, companion and etc...

What is the current status of Guards vs Goats?
In general, this project is divided into three milestones:
- Prototype.
- Demo.
- The game itself.
Prototype: Done. The screenshots and the video are from the prototype.
Demo: On it. I wish to release it by February but things do take time and I cannot promise that.
The demo will consist of the first level, including all of its cutscenes and a training tutorial which explains the controls of the game.
After the demo is released, level 2 to 10 will be implemented as well as the custom game mode and then - official release.

What is the current status of the demo?
What's done?
Everything you see in the prototype plus:
- Designed the interior and exterior structure of the castle that will appear in the demo.
- Found voice actors for the 5 characters that will appear in the demo.
- Received 40% of the demo voice lines.
What's left?
- Finish cluttering the demo level castle.
- Create the training level.
- Receive and apply the rest of the voices.
- Implement level 1 cutscenes.

Cheers!
