We have released Hotfix #3.
Since release, crashes when entering and leaving missions have been our #1 issue. We have been working nonstop to find the cause, including throughout the entire weekend. Today, on Sunday, we are releasing the first major part of the fix so you can enjoy a much more stable Warhounds experience.

Partially fixes crashes when entering and leaving missions
Speeds up location loading
A Look Behind the Scenes
We first encountered this crash after releasing the initial demo. The logs showed that memory was being corrupted, but the game only crashed later, when the engine cleared objects while entering or leaving a mission. Since the issue also depended on the framerate and the computer’s current memory state, it was extremely difficult to reproduce and trace.
After extensive testing, we finally connected the corrupted memory to the shader used by our water plugin — which is present throughout most of the game. On Friday, we successfully tested a build with the water removed, confirming that we had found the source of the crashes.
What This Hotfix Changes
Instead of removing water from the entire game, Hotfix #3 replaces it in the locations where it is used most heavily, including the base menu, the second location, and several story locations. This should already significantly reduce the number of crashes.
This is not yet the complete fix. Now that we know the exact cause, we can address it properly. In the next hotfix, we will replace the water on all remaining locations, after which the crash issue should disappear completely.
Thank you for your patience, your reports, and your support. We are a small indie team, and we will keep working hard to make Warhounds as stable and enjoyable as possible.
