Spellfall: Last Mage Standing Playtest · published · build 25091604
With all round 1 projectiles receiving a small knockback buff, Tidal Shot was left in an interesting place. It's core identity became shared with all the other projectiles, and while the initial update simply added MORE knockback to the spell balancing became more challenging. Too little knockback and the ability felt the same. Too much and players went soaring across the arena, and not in a fun way.
Tidal Shot has been removed for now and replaced with a new Round 1 ability Crimson Reaver.
Fire a pair of blood-magic projectiles that converge on your target, granting lifesteal when they strike an enemy.
The unique casting pattern for this spell rewards players who are able to land both projectile hits with burst damage. While an ability like Split Shot benefits from being up close, Crimson Reaver narrows as it gets closer to the target making it a strong ranged ability.
In addition to this change some status effects such as fireball's burn, frost bolt's freeze, and air slash's movement bonus have been revised.
Hope you enjoy testing this new ability! Let me know what fun builds you discover with it.
