Long-hold the dashboard logo in compact mode now unlocks the overlay and swaps to layout mode. Same as the existing double-press, but easier to land in VR. Fullsize-dash defaults are unchanged. Custom keybindings are preserved on update.
Heads up on the preset system. The new preset and preset-group flow mostly works, but a few known bugs are still being shaken out and will be fixed in the next patch. If you hit an edge case or want to help guide where this lands next, join the Discord.
New Features
Preset groups — workspace snapshots. Build a group like "Streaming Layout" once: tap it later to spawn Twitch on the left wrist, chat on the right, OBS on the headset, and close everything else in one motion.
Preset+ button on the overlays tab. Save the overlay you've just tweaked as a preset, right from the overlays tab. Source kind (Browser / App / Window / Display / System overlay) is auto-detected.
Position is captured per anchor. Activating a preset now restores the exact pose you saved at each anchor, instead of dropping the overlay at a default position.
Browser URLs are auto-detected. When capturing a browser overlay, the URL is read from the address bar automatically. Works with Firefox and Chromium-family browsers (Edge, Chrome, Brave). Manual paste still works for protected pages.
Overlay curvature. Curvature is now saved alongside opacity and size. A new curvature slider appears in OVR ▸ Overlays (gated by the overlay_show_curvature_slider toggle).
System overlays can be saved as presets. The dashboard, popouts, the keyboard, and other system overlays now save into presets like any other overlay.
Twitch live + viewer-count badge. When your stream is live, a green LIVE + viewer-count badge appears on the Live tab and Twitch popouts. Toggle in Live ▸ Addons → "When stream is online, show viewer count".
Bug Fixes
Controller reticles now hide when the SteamVR dashboard opens. Previously the cursor reticles would keep tracking and re-appear on top of the dashboard even though every other vrOS overlay was hidden.
The pre-ad warning overlay now actually fires. Before, the warning window could stay silent forever if the UI subsystem missed the very first ad-manager publish at startup. A heartbeat + startup refresh request now make sure the state is always there when an ad break approaches.
Vivecraft no longer crash-loops when opening the 'v' audio menu. GPU recovery now distinguishes a real GPU loss from temporary contention — temporary stalls do a soft recovery instead of restarting every overlay every ~10 seconds.
Better diagnostic logs for the ads pipeline. Ad schedule polls + ad-manager state changes now log at info level so issues like a missing OAuth scope or non-affiliate channel surface immediately. Helix polling also pauses while the stream is offline.
The Ads tab no longer triggers slow-UI-loop warnings. Typing in chat-message fields and switching modes is smooth.
Improvements
Presets moved to the top of the Appearance settings group. It's the primary workspace-management surface now — Keyboard / Themes / Accessibility sit below it.
