The only significant change in this version is that the parser will no longer accept additional keywords if they are not relevant to the command.
For example, instructions like PAUSE or QUIT don't take any parameters, but previously, the game would not complain if you tried to PAUSE ROPE or QUIT TREE. The additional ROPE or TREE words were simply ignored.
Similarly, USE or READ only require a single item name after them. So, USE ROPE TREE would work but would be the same as USE ROPE. Now, if you try that, the input will simply be refused.
