Hey there!
We're back with another update! This one really seeks to make the game more understandable. With a new tutorial, an area where you can experiment, and new features like a grid display, we hope everyone can sail through the Exoverse confusion free!
Here's the full list of changes:
THE LAB
- Added the lab! This is an area where you can test out your weapons, maze designs, and a whole lot more!
- Added a new training dummy enemy. This has been added to the lab, as well as the second tutorial.
QUALITY OF LIFE
- A grid is now displayed on the world during the planning phase. Tiles you cannot place anything on (such as in front of the Beacon) are now displayed in red.
- Trail indicators now appear on the automap.
- Portals that spawn multiple strengths of enemies now produce multiple trails.
- Enemies now spawn closer to the portal exit. This makes waves of enemies reach the world faster.
- Added more specific messages to explain why towers cannot be placed.
- The player is now rendered on the tab screen map, as well as objects/enemies if the player has the radar.
- Tiles you cannot place anything on now appear as dark gray blocks on the automap/tab screen map.
- Temporary towers now have a transparent display on the automap/tab screen map.
- Added an explanation popup the first time a turret overheats.
BLAZAR REWORK
- Increased the base damage from 40 to 45.
- Increased the bonus damage against burning enemies from 50% to 100%.
- Increased the heat capacity from 100 to 150. Will still ignite enemies when above 50 heat.
- Increased Blazing Strike's bonus damage from 50% to 100% when overheated.
- Increased Blazing Strike's bonus damage against burning enemies from 50% to 100%.
NEW & IMPROVED
- Added a second tutorial covering weapon ranges & stats. Both tutorials are required to play the game.
- Enhanced the first tutorial, and made it lead right into the second.
- On the stats menu, stats can now be moused over to display information about the effect the stat has.
- Tower and weapon icons now glow when receiving a new tower/weapon.
- The player/enemies now have an easier time moving over sloped terrtain.
- Reduced the base gambling failure chance on normal from 37.5% to 25%.
- Reduced the base gambling failure chance on hard from 50.0% to 37.5%.
- Reduced the health on Giggordo's totems from 100 to 80 (world 1), and from 250 to 120 (world 2).
- Snaar bruisers how have less shielding, but more health.
- Picking up a battery can now grand additional power shot meter charges if the player has the duplex capacitor.
- Changed the default zoom key binding from mouse3 to left alt.
- Cutscene portraits are no longer always loaded. Only the ones that are needed are loaded at the start of the level.
- Rockets and grenades now apply both their impact and splash damage to corpses (used to only be splash damage). This makes resets on corpses easier with the bazooka/thumper.
FIXES
- Achievements are no longer given during the tutorial (except the one for completing the tutorial).
- Bruisers now properly signal to soldiers that they've been killed by the player.
- Fixed a display issue causing portals to sometimes not render.
- Fixed several description message errors on the main menu occurring when unlocking new menu items.
- Kagorox ChiefTAIN is now spelled properly.
- Renamed Kagorox Savages to Kagorox Savagers (to maintain all light enemy names ending in -er).
Thanks everyone! We'll see you out there in the Exoverse.
