Patch Notes - Environmental Hazards, Retractable Bridges, and Hub Polish

New Features

  • Explosive Barrels - Shoot barrels to damage them and start a fuse. After the countdown, they explode with area damage, knockback, VFX, and audio feedback. Barrels respawn after a delay.
  • Hanging Cargo Containers - Shoot the suspension wires to release cargo onto enemies. Falling containers now support crush damage, ground-impact damage, knockback, dust, landing telegraphs, sound feedback, and timed respawns.
  • Retractable Bridges - Added shootable bridge controls that temporarily retract bridges and restore them after the interaction cycle. Bridge movement includes new mechanical audio feedback.

Hub & Controls

  • Starting Ability Selection - Your selected starting ability is now preserved in the Hub instead of being replaced by the default.
  • Ability Equip Feedback - Equipping an ability in the Hub now plays ability-specific audio with firing and muzzle VFX support.
  • Improved Menu Input - Mouse, keyboard, and controller input now switch more reliably in menus, with cleaner cursor behavior.
  • Perk & Upgrade Path Navigation - Perk and upgrade-path trees now support more reliable drag panning and horizontal navigation.

Bug Fixes & Gameplay Polish

  • Encounter Event Reliability - Authored encounter events are no longer silently skipped when the global enemy count is at capacity.
  • Combat Target Resolution - Abilities now resolve damageable targets more reliably, including interactive environmental objects.
  • Bridge Traversal Fixes - Enemy traversal and bridge collision now update together when a bridge retracts, preventing enemies from remaining on unavailable bridge sections.
  • Respawn Behavior - Explosive barrels and dropped cargo now clean up correctly and return after their respawn delay.
