The 16.0.2 patch is out today, bringing four crash fixes, a handful of stability improvements to the 3D View, and a new OpenPBR feature for artists working with physically-based materials.
The headline addition is OpenPBR support for Base color and Ambient Occlusion constants — a small but useful expansion that reduces the need for extra nodes when setting up standard surface properties.
On the stability front, the release resolves a VRAM leak in the GPU path tracer that surfaced whenever displacement was active, and fixes an issue where the main thread remained busy as long as the 3D View was open. Both had a quiet but cumulative impact on performance during longer work sessions.
