R.O.B.I.T.S. — v0.8.0-alpha

Sub-Arena Overhaul

The wormhole encounters have been completely rebuilt. You'll now drop into multi-room layouts with interconnected corridors instead of a single open chamber. Entry, elite, and exit rooms are always placed in separate areas, so you actually have to push through the space. Look for the RIFT marker on-screen when the wormhole portal spawns offscreen — it'll point you to it.

Flight Deck — 3D Drone Preview

The drone selection screen now shows a full 3D cel-shaded preview for the Interceptor, Wraith, and Flanker. Drag to rotate.

Loadout Editor Refresh

The inventory panel has been redesigned into a cleaner single-column row layout with accent-bar hover and focus states. The sidebar is wider, part type and rarity now spell out fully, and the editor now works as a standalone screen — no active run required to browse your loadout.

Combat Feel

  • Fixed knockback directions — enemies and the player now fly the correct direction on hit
  • Weapon recoil added — firing now pushes your drone back

Endless Mode — Combo VFX

The combo counter has been juiced up with improved visual effects and score feedback.

Performance

  • Horde enemy separation and wall animation ported to a native extension — significant CPU savings
  • Fixed per-frame and per-death allocation spikes in combat
  • Minimap and parallax geometry rendering optimized

Audio

New sound effects for UI interactions and menu transitions.

Bug Fixes

  • Fixed UI buttons swallowing click events (buttons now register on first press)
  • Fixed error spam from the player shader on headless runs
  • Fixed errors when releasing non-pooled effects

This is an alpha build. Expect rough edges, missing content, and balance changes in every update. Feedback welcome.
