Patch notes for version 1997 (released October 19, 2024)

The Art of Reflection · published

  • Added support for DirectX feature level 11.0. Until now, the game required feature level 11.1. This should allow some older video cards to run the game (eg. GeForce 600/700 era cards).
  • Added a subtle distance fog
  • Tuned ambient occlusion to be stronger, especially in the distance
  • Added point of no return to the start of the first puzzle in the green upside-down combinations area (the tall narrow column) to reduce disorientation.
  • Swapped green upside-down combinations puzzle #2 (open air key grab) and #3 (closed room key grab) to encourage more interesting solutions to puzzle #2.
  • Moved green upside-down basics puzzle #3 (two-mirror closed room) to another location and made it a bonus puzzle. In its place is a simpler puzzle teaching something small but helpful for entering the orange area.
  • Added a music box to the orange hub area (but it can't be interacted with in the demo, look forward to completing it in the full game!)
  • Tweaked floor lights to make them look a little less like they're hovering off the ground
  • Fixed wrong key prompt being shown in some cases
  • Fixed bug where the player could walljump if they walked off a platform while hugging a wall
  • Fixed exploit in green upside-down combinations puzzle #2 (the open air key grab and door open) where you could enter the door upside-down.
  • Fixed bug where selecting a save slot sometimes resulted in the wrong save slot getting loaded
  • Fixed bug where ambient occlusion was being drawn on top of glass
