✨ NEW FEATURES

👑 Bosses Reworked Top to Bottom

The boss roster has had a major gameplay pass so each fight now has a stronger identity, better telegraphs, clearer punish windows, and much more memorable phase flow instead of just feeling like a bigger stat check.

  • Prep Cook now teaches lane reads with cutting-board rush telegraphs and punish windows after missed charges
  • The Butcher leans harder into hook-and-grinder pressure with nastier arena control
  • Ol' Sizzler turns heat, oil placement and ignition timing into part of the fight
  • Blinkwurst is more deliberate and readable, with planned mobility instead of random chaos
  • General Grillsworth now plays like a battlefield commander with layered pressure patterns
  • The Sauce King has stronger stance-based attacks and phase identity
  • Mirror Maitre D' now reflects and pressures builds in a much more deliberate way
  • Mama Meatball, The Necro-Chef, and The Meatrix now use full split mechanics for bigger multi-stage battles

These fights are tougher, fairer, and far more distinct from one another.

🍞 New Mini-Bosses Enter the Arena

Three new mini-boss encounters are now in the run rotation, adding much more personality to early and mid-game waves.

  • Beans appears on Level 1, Wave 3
Slippery, jumpy, messy, and able to split into smaller beanlets before recombining if you leave them alive
  • Rye Bread appears on Level 2, Wave 3
A chunky lane-control bruiser with crumb shockwaves, shields, and hot-tile pressure
  • Beans on Toast appears on Level 6, Wave 3
A duo encounter where Rye Bread and Beans combine into a much more dangerous coordinated fight

These are not just stat bumps. They change how you move, when you commit, and what you need to clear first.

💰 The Gold Meatball

A rare new jackpot enemy can now appear during runs.

When it spawns, you'll hear a shiny audio cue. Kill it fast and it bursts into a shower of gold worth 100 to 200 gold.

It's rare, it's flashy, and yes, you should absolutely drop everything and chase it.

🌀 Bullet Hell Matrix Rebalanced

Bullet Hell Matrix has been reworked so it now builds up in a much cleaner way.

  • It starts with one stream
  • Each qualifying pickup adds another stream
  • It now caps at 8 total streams

This keeps the fantasy intact while making the effect more readable and better balanced.

🎮 CONTROLLER, UI & SHOP FIXES

🎛️ Better Controller Support

A big controller usability pass has gone in across menus and selection screens.

  • Toggle buttons in menus now work properly with controller input
  • In character select, opening mutators with Y no longer causes pressing down to close the menu instead of navigating options

🛒 Shop Fixes and Clarity

The between-round shop has had several important fixes and quality-of-life improvements.

  • Fixed the slight lag/pause that could cause a double reroll
  • Fixed shop locks not correctly carrying into the next round
  • One-shot power-up notifications no longer take over the whole screen and now sit in a much less invasive position near the weapon area
  • Stat caps are now much clearer in shops, drops, and level-up rewards

❤️ Stat Cap Visibility

Capped stats now communicate their limits much better.

  • Max health is now capped at 250
  • Shop items, drops, and XP upgrades now show when a stat is already capped
  • The same treatment has been applied to other currently capped stats as well

🧪 Tutorial Fix

The tutorial shop interaction issue has been fixed, so you should no longer get stuck unable to press F at the in-run shop.

🌐 MULTIPLAYER UPDATES

🤝 Co-op Now Behaves Much More Like Single-Player

A major goal of this update was making co-op feel closer to the core single-player experience.

  • Multiplayer now handles pause and unpause by player consent
  • Players now ready up at each shop
  • Shrines and gameplay flow are much closer to the single-player run structure
  • In co-op, integrity now affects gold pickup value instead of directly hurting players, and this is communicated more clearly
  • Saving a friend in multiplayer is now supported in progression flow
  • Multiplayer progress now carries over much more properly, including unlock progress for both players

💾 Save Slots and Drop-In Play

Multiplayer got a much-needed progression and session-flow upgrade.

  • Multiplayer save slots are now supported so co-op groups can return to runs
  • Players can now join or be invited mid-round
  • A drop-in player can choose their own meatball and enter the current run without forcing a full restart or mirrored economy setup

🔧 Co-op Fixes

A long list of co-op issues has been cleaned up.

  • Lowered the time for picking up a downed player
  • Fixed cases where players could move through blocks
  • Fixed enemies spawning on top of friends
  • Fixed cases where shooting could become desynced
  • Fixed weapon interaction issues when a player already had 3 weapons
  • Fixed boss UI lingering on remote players after it should have disappeared

🏟️ PvP FFA Expanded

PvP free-for-all has also been upgraded.

  • Random item and weapon drops can now appear around the map
  • The scoreboard has been moved to the left side
  • Random blocker boxes can now appear and shift the floor layout during matches
  • Up to 24 players are now supported in PvP FFA

🖱️ Lobby Input Fixes

The multiplayer lobby menu click issue has been fixed, so menu interaction is no longer stuck in the weird state where Enter worked but mouse clicks didn't.

⚖️ BALANCE, POLISH & FIXES

🎯 Power-Up Drop Fixes

Saved games and drop pacing have been cleaned up.

  • Fixed a problem where loading into a saved game could cause insane drop rates
  • One-shot power-ups like Mortar now drop at the intended per-level random rate, not a broken per-wave flood

📡 Cleaner On-Screen Information

A few presentation issues have been tightened up across the run.

  • Less intrusive display for fullscreen-style power-up alerts
  • Better communication around capped stats and multiplayer integrity behavior
  • Cleaner boss UI behavior in multiplayer

🧼 General Cleanup

This update includes a broad pass on run consistency, readability, and edge-case behavior across shops, menus, multiplayer flow, wave pacing, and progression.
