Guns and Dragons Playtest · published
Hey everyone,
The turnout for this playtest has been far beyond what we expected, and we've been reading everything — Steam Discussions, reviews, Discord, all of it. Here's our first round of changes, plus an honest rundown of what we're still working on.
## 1. The Ogre boss hits harder now
We saw the Ogre going down more quickly than we'd designed for, so we've turned up the pressure on that fight. Boss encounters should feel like a real wall — while everything around them gets a little smoother. More on that below.
## 2. Health potions can now drop from regular enemies
Originally we limited healing to specific situations, hoping it would keep every run tense. What we saw in the playtest is that it mostly just became stressful — running on fumes with no way out isn't tension, it's frustration.
Health potions now have a small chance to drop from regular enemies. The pressure stays; the door isn't closed anymore.
## 3. Building costs less wood
With the limited amount of content in this playtest, we'd rather you got to try more structures than spend the whole time gathering. Wood requirements are reduced for this build.
## 4. 日本語に対応しました (Japanese Language Support)
We launched the playtest with English, Korean, and Chinese. So many more of you showed up than we planned for that we've added Japanese, checked in-house. It wasn't handled by professional translators, so some phrasing may read a little unnatural — thanks for bearing with us on that one.
## 5. Private sessions can now be joined with a session code
Plenty of you told us the multiplayer join flow was confusing. You can now get into a private session with just a session code.
## Bug Fixes
- Fixed several localization and text string errors
- Fixed several synchronization issues
- Fixed the Invert Mouse option not actually doing anything

Thank you, sincerely.
We didn't expect this many people to show up, and the quality of the feedback has been better than we had any right to hope for — some of you have written up more thorough breakdowns than our own internal notes. We're going through all of it.
**P.S.** We've also seen the feedback that there just isn't enough content in this playtest. Fair. We're building toward giving you a lot more to chew on next time around. For this build, give the difficulty options a spin too and let us know how they land.
