Spellfall Playtest Update 0.4.0

This update focuses on improving the camera perspective, gameplay against bots, and overall UI polish.

Camera Improvements

The arena camera has been adjusted to provide a clearer view of your mage and the battlefield. The camera angle is significantly closer than in prior releases, bringing you closer to the action while still providing awareness of falling platforms and battlefield hazards.

The spectator camera has also been updated to provide a better vantage point of the arena while you watch the remainder of the match unfold.

Bot Improvements

Bots have been updated with improved aim prediction and blink usage.

They've been killing me. A lot.

Good luck, mages.

UI Updates

The UI has received numerous polish updates, including improvements to buttons, the draft selection menu, ability and item HUD frames, and the final victory scoreboard.

Additionally, the combat log is now collapsed by default. Expanding the combat log will retain your preference between matches if you prefer having additional combat details available.

Additional Updates

  • Nullash has been renamed to Nullify. Nullify retains its silencing power but now unleashes a burst of void energy in front of the caster, affecting all enemies hit. Instead of reducing its cooldown when enemies are struck, the caster now gains 5 Spell Power for each enemy hit.
  • Aim prediction has been updated for the following abilities: Static Link, Summon Familiar, Glacial Sentinel, and Fractal Shot.
  • Titan's Revenge now fires its projectile barrage significantly faster. It's fun. Try it out.
  • Summon Familiar's attack range has been reduced to compensate for its improved aim prediction. Attack frequency has also been reduced.
  • Titan's Strike, Nullify, and Essence Shift have received new ability icons.

As always, thank you for helping test Spellfall and providing feedback as development continues.
