Metropolis DLC + Major Content Update out NOW!!

On Steam

The major update is here, Operators! This is a very substantial build, including lots of new gameplay content! The amount of changes here is quite large, so I'll go down the list one at a time. We're extremely proud of this update and are happy to finally get it into everyone's hands!Firstly, the Metropolis Pack DLC has been added! This DLC is our first major Content Pack. It includes a new region - Metropolis, which comes with both a Bomb Extract and Survival mission! It also includes a new Cosmetic set, highly customizable Riot Gear, and a Police skin for each weapon!

NOTE: You don't need to own the DLC in order to play the maps. As long as one player in your lobby, (ANY player, not just the Host) has the DLC, it will be selectable in Cure HQ, and players who don't own it can also freely join lobbies where DLC missions are being played!
This isn't all, though - This update comes with a rather significant sum of free content across the rest of the game with some amazing things here! The zombie scourge is evolving, and two new types of infected have started appearing in mission zones. The Popper a bloated mess, with no purpose other than to explode. Upon spawning, it will bee-line it towards the closest human it can find, going through a detonation process once it makes contact. If allowed to explode, it deals an intense amount of damage. However shooting it's massive red pustules ahead of time will induce a lesser explosion. This explosion doesn't seem to only effect the uninfected, however. Field reports show that a Popper's explosion deals massive amounts of damage not just to CURE Operatives, but also to surrounding zombies as well, meaning that a well placed shot on a Popper in the middle of a horde can lead to some great zombie clearing results!

The Spitter is a ranged zombie that fires green vomitous spit from the back rank. These highly specialized infected have been seen taking vantage points and utilizing clever positioning in order to take their shots, with their vomit traveling through the air like mortars.Thankfully, they take a couple shots before they start becoming too threatening, as they dial in their accuracy. Their projectiles are slow mortars, making them easy to dodge for an attentive Operator. These two new enemies show up in both Bomb Extraction missions, as well as Survival missions. A new type of Rush Wave has been implemented for Survival utilizing these new enemy types as well, meaning that when a Rush Wave occurs, it will have a random chance of being a joint Popper/Spitter Rush Wave. These enemies add a lot of variety to each map, and are extremely fun additions to the roster! We've also done another major change - Added per-map zombie variations to the game. Now, each mission will have unique clothing for enemies based on what region you're in! Forest will have Park Rangers and Woodland Camouflage Soldier Zombies, Great Basin Base will have Security Guards, Scientists, Test Subjects, etc., Rustbelt and Metropolis will have Riot Police and various other types of zombies, etc.More variations will be added over time, but this update gives each region a much more distinct sense of identity. We're very happy with this change!Shown Above: Some of the Great Basin Base variationsWe've also done massive optimization improvements which should increase performance for everyone, ESPECIALLY dramatically increasing performance on High/Ultra pre-sets. If you currently run on Low/Medium, I'd recommend trying a step up in Graphics pre-set and seeing how well it runs! If you already run on those settings, you should also experience a decent improvement in performance, as we have optimized both the lighting and shadow systems. A lot of graphical assets have also been refined, helping to improve both game filesize and performance, as well as improved animations for various weapon and character models. There's even more stuff I've likely missed, so the full changelog will be provided below, as we've also done a wide variety of bug fixes, QoL improvements, and more. We'll also be taking part in Steam Scream, so the Combat Specialist Pack and OST will be on sale, as well as the Metropolis Pack having a Launch Sale. It's a big launch, so have fun curing hordes and clearing the Metropolis streets!Full changelog here: Changelog
